This anthology of poetry has some
thing to suit everybody. To give you a flavour, the collection ranges
from the ancient (such as Li-Po) to the modern (Siffre, Seth). The
works cover topics such as war (Owen, Sassoon, Douglas), love (de
Vere aka: 'Shakespeare', Shelley, Nakatomi, Marks) and death (Auden,
Tennyson, Dickinson). To suit the mood, some poems are serious (Blake,
Houseman, Niedecker, Smith), some are of a lighter nature (Cummings,
Wordsworth, Herrick), whilst others are just plain silly nonsense
(Milligan, Lear, Isherwood). There are wise words (Roethke), the well
known (Yeats, Kipling), lesser known (Alexandra Feodorovna; as a poet
anyway), and even an international language selection (Tagore, Ó
Raifteirí, Lagerkvist, Basho). So what ever your taste in poetry
I do hope you enjoy your visit here.
